The premiere on Disney+ of Cruella, the new Disney film that portrays the early rebellious days of one of the most notorious villains in cinema and fashion, inspired an action with social organizations in Argentina, Mexico and Brazil to promote the inclusion of people in vulnerable situations through trades in the textile industry.
In Argentina, the action was called I BREAK THE MOLDS and we worked with Cosiendo Redes, which called on people in contexts of socioeconomic vulnerability who had passed through its workshops to make unique t-shirts and jackets inspired by the aesthetics of cruella, intervening artistically and adding their distinctive stamp and own style. The garments will be worn by different public figures and fashion leaders to make the work of the NGO visible and to publicize the fruit of connecting talent with opportunity.
Cosiendo Redes is an organization whose mission is to contribute to the social and labor insertion of people through workshops, training and tutorials in textile trades, building bridges between those who are in a situation of vulnerability and companies and designers who demand labor and workshops. in the fashion industry.
Based on this action, Disney donated funds to the organization so that more than 200 people can be trained in the clothing production technique, in addition to promoting new job opportunities for the AMBA Consolidated Workshops, Textile Cooperatives, and Entrepreneurs network.
In Mexico and Brazil, the organizations supported by Disney were Impacto and Orientavida, respectively, which made unique garments inspired by Cruella, where fashion and local culture took center stage.
